FAQ

ABOUT THE SPACE

Where are you located?

In the historic Hamm’s campus on Saint Paul’s East Side. Look for the brick, the crow, and the glow from inside.

This building looks really old. What did it used to be?

It was originally the Hamm’s blacksmith and paint shop, built in 1919 — a working heart of the historic brewery campus. We’re incredibly proud to be part of such a legendary corner of Hamm’s history. The bones are iconic. We’re just adding the next chapter.

Who are your owners?

CrowBar is owned by ReGina Clapp and Liza Sterletske. Two women with big ideas, real passion, and a shared belief that great hospitality can shift the whole vibe of a neighborhood.

Are you a cocktail bar or a distillery?

We’re both. CrowBar is the cocktail room and tasting space for Voliere Spirits, our on-site distillery. The distillery lives behind the scenes, making the vodka, gin, rums, bourbon, and rye whiskey you’ll find in your glass. CrowBar is where those spirits come to life in cocktails, community, and conversation.

VOLIERE SPIRITS

What kind of products does your distillery make?

Voliere Spirits creates vodka, gin, white rum, dark rum, bourbon, and rye whiskey — with more expressions quietly in the works. Everything is distilled on-site with intention, balance, and a little artistic mischief. We’re also proud to be the only female-owned whiskey distillery in the state of Minnesota.

Why are your spirits priced the way they are?

Because good spirits shouldn’t feel exclusive. We intentionally price Voliere to be accessible in today’s challenging economy. We want our neighborhood bartenders to pour us proudly — and for anyone to feel comfortable bringing a bottle home without thinking twice. Great hospitality starts with making people feel welcome, and that includes the price tag.

Are your spirits available in stores?

Yes. Voliere Spirits is rolling out across the Twin Cities. If your favorite shop doesn’t carry us yet, feel free to give them a friendly nudge.

Can I purchase bottles to go?

Yes. Our bottle shop is open during business hours, with one important note… Minnesota law requires us to stop selling at 10 PM. If you want to take something home, grab it early.

GUEST EXPERIENCE

Do you take reservations?

We do not. CrowBar is entirely first come, first served. We want everyone to feel welcome to wander in, find their corner, and settle into the vibe without booking ahead.

Do you allow dogs?

We adore dogs. Truly. But our space is filled with vintage audio gear, delicate memorabilia, and chairs that do not enjoy being shed on. To keep everything (and everyone) safe, pups are welcome on the patio only.

Do you allow kids?

CrowBar is a 21+ space. It keeps the vibe consistent, the cocktails flowing, and lets us play the vinyl we love without edits — the way it was meant to be heard.

Do you have nonalcoholic offerings?

We do. Our mocktails are crafted with the same care and intention as everything else we make. Whether you’re drinking or not, we’ve got thoughtful options that feel just as special — without charging you through the nose for them. And our cocktail menu is generous, so there’s plenty to explore without feeling boxed in.

Can I bring in my own vinyl to play?

Right now, the turntables are controlled by our staff. But vinyl nerds, fear not. We’re planning special listening nights where guests can bring their own records and help set the soundtrack. Watch our socials for details.

Do you have outdoor seating?

Yes. Our patio is open during the warmer months and is the perfect place to enjoy a drink, some sunshine, and dog-friendly hangs.

Can I take photos inside?

Absolutely. We love seeing your snapshots of the space — just be mindful of other guests who may prefer to stay out of the spotlight. If you’re bringing professional equipment or planning a shoot, check in with us first.

OPERATIONS

Do you take cash?

Not at this time. For the safety of our team, we operate as a cashless business. It reduces risk during late-night hours, limits the need for anyone to handle large sums of money, and keeps our staff focused on hospitality instead of security concerns. We accept all major cards and contactless payments.

Do you have a kitchen?

Not yet, but it’s coming. Until then, we have a direct line to Saint Paul Brewing so you can order food without leaving your seat.

What are your hours of operation?

Wednesday through Friday: 4 PM to close
Saturday: Noon to close
(We’re still learning what the neighborhood wants. Hours may shift as we grow.)

Are you affiliated with Saint Paul Brewing?

We share a property line and plenty of good energy, but CrowBar and Voliere Spirits are an independent, women-owned venture. Saint Paul Brewing is Rob’s operation next door.

Do you have merchandise?

We do. It’s cheeky, fun, and tends to disappear fast. Swing by and see what’s on the shelf.

Is your space accessible?

Yes. Our entrance, layout, and restrooms are designed to be accessible for guests with mobility needs. If you have specific concerns or need assistance when you arrive, our team is always happy to help.

Where should I park?

There is free parking throughout the Hamm’s campus, including:
• The courtyard lot by Saint Paul Brewing
• The city lot directly behind us

Both are just a short walk to our door. Follow the signs — or the people heading toward good drinks.

EVENTS & GIFTS

Do you host private events or large groups?

Yes, with some considerations. CrowBar is an intimate space with nooks and personality, so we’ll work with you to make sure it fits your vision and our operations. Reach out and we’ll explore the possibilities together.

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes. We offer both digital and in-person gift cards — perfect for holidays, birthdays, celebrations, or “I saw this and thought of you” moments.
